Meet Dayda Banks,
He has a sharp tongue and a degree of “calm” matched by few. His style of writing goes deeper than your average and takes the listener on a journey through his perspective. It’s almost like you’ve hopped inside his car with him while he takes you on a tour of the world through his eyes. Subtle with his accomplishments and absolutely certain of his mistakes, he has a way of resonating with his listeners and speaking to them individually. He reaches out to those with a dream of their own and inspires them to push their own limits. You can usually find Dayda doing shows in his hometown with a tight circle of artists he surrounds himself with for an audience that know the words to his songs very well. Dayda uses the slogan " We are Dayda Banks", to represent the connection he shares with his fans, asserting that we all have our own story to tell the world within our own "data banks".
Since his first projects "The John Doe Sessions" and “Roy Meets World”, Dayda has continued to release singles and projects that show his evolution as an artist at an exponential level. “The Lucid Dreamer” & “Vagabonds” are two full length albums that Dayda describes as, “ my rational investigation of the world and what it truly means to live”. These projects were followed up by the recent release of a collaborative project with fellow YXE artist Filth The Enabler called “Emulator”. A sci fi, retro video game themed, boom bap EP where both artists pushed each other to bridge styles. Being noticed for his originality, and diversity on tracks, promoters have put him on many of the shows that come through his city. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with a wide variety of artists such as MGK, Pusha T, Fabolous, RA the Rugged Man, Sweatshop Union, SDK, Factor Chandelier and Side Road Records, Jadakiss, Swollen Members and plenty more. Dayda is currently working on new music to be released throughout 2019.
